The leaf

is a series of photographs capturing the movement of a single leaf drifting across the surface of Chapel Pond, a special place in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. The photos were taken between 8:40 and 8:57am on a single October morning when it was particularly beautiful, quiet, and calm. The shape of the leaf on the water and the reflection of its stem were reminiscent of a swimmer, rower, or boat. It was magical. Below is a sampling of the eighty photographs in the collection.*

*The photographs are also gathered sequentially into a continuous loop video presentation. More information upon request.
